Georgia Southern or Brenau?

So I'm trying to decide between Georgia Southern University and Brenau University. I'm slightly concerned about Brenau being an all girl's school, and it's relatively small. Does anyone have any experience at Brenau or other girl's schools?

well, i've never been to an all girl's school, but i've been to an all girl's camp (basically the same thing) and it was way fun.... you should do what makes you happy...you'll have fun at brenau (aka keystone camp) , of this i am sure.

I've never heard of brenau, but Georgia Southern seems like a decent school considering it gets some good students who want the HOPE scholarship but didn't get into UGA or GTech. You can be intelligent and still get rejected from UGA, so it can't be all that bad.

Georgia Southern shudder The STD capital of the world. I don't know a single person who likes Georgia Southern that are there. Most of my friends have transfered out.

I have a good friend at Brenau who thought she would hate it and transfer to UGA in a year, but she's still there 3 years later and LOVES it.

Found this post:
We lived near the school when it was called Statesboro (sp) College. At that time, it was primarily a teachers/business college and served many of the local kids. When Georgia instituted the HOPE program to keep its students in state, there was a mad rush for U Ga and Georgia Tech. The program has succeeded beyond the wildest hopes of anyone.

The problem is that it is now very, very difficult to get into those two schools, whereas at one time it was not so hard. Even good students fail to get in if their SAT scores are below a certain threshhold.
This has resulted in Georgia upgrading their ancillary state schools, including Georgia Southern, which has grown and become a viable option to kids from all over Georgia instead of just from the region surrounding the school. It’s about an hour or so from Savannah (maybe closer, we lived in Glennville, and I never went from Savannah to the school; just from where we lived). There is some diversity provided by the military base in Hinesville (Ft Stewart, I believe, memory is fading) since a number of military families do sent their kids to GS. It is not the commuter school it used to be, but it has a large suitcase faction because it does tend to serve its locality more heavily than Georgia’s two big state guns.

Hello, I am writing about the comment regarding STDs at Georgia Southern. This is a complete myth. As you can see, whomever typed this originally did so in 2006!!! This is one of the best universities in Georgia and one of the best in the Southeast. It was recently named the 4th most popular university by U.S. News & World Report behind BYU, Harvard and Stanford. Not too bad of company. VISIT CAMPUS AND SEE FOR YOURSELF! Most people that write this kind of stuff are not honest or passing along rumors. GO EAGLES!
