Georgia State full tuition waiver Vs. University of Georgia.....

I’m an international student from India, and I’ve received acceptances from Georgia State, University of Georgia, UMass Amherst, Michigan State, Northeastern University, University of Arizona,ASU and University of Colorado at Boulder

I was awarded a full tuition waiver at Georgia State, and a couple of small scholarships from UMass and Arizona (Nothing Significant). I’ve pretty much narrowed it down to two schools- University of Georgia at Athens(No scholarship) and Georgia State.

I intend to major in Business and Economics, and will also be attempting to transfer to some reputed schools after my freshman year. I’ve heard great things about UGA, and I’ve been told the full tuition waiver at Georgia State is a great plus too.

Whichever school I choose, would have to offer an opportunity to make a good transfer application. And since financial aid and scholarships are limited for international students, the full tuition waiver eases some of that liability.

Will the ranking or prestige etc. of UGA matter? Or should I consider the full tution waiver at Georgia State.

Help pls I have 4 AP’s in a few weeks my head’s exploding.

Well, you mentioned that you intend to transfer to a reputable school after freshman year therefore, UGA’s prestige will actually increase your chances.

honestly, when it comes to choosing a school it all comes down to what you want.

If you want some financial weight lifted then I say go for GSU.

If you want a great school which will increase your chances of attending a reputable school with a large sum of debt then I say go for UGA.

I say weigh the PROS and CONS.

think of the outcomes.

best of luck,

Georgia State is very urban and mostly commuter.
Among the universities that admitted you, Colorado Boulder, UGa, Michigan State are all excellent.
However do not expect to transfer - it’s very difficult, especially after just a year. So, choose your university as the one where you’ll spend 4 years.
