Georgia State University Economics vs Georgia Tech Economics?

Hey, Im interested in knowing if transfering from Georgia State to Georgia Tech would be an upgrade. I'm currently trying to get my Bachelor's of Science in Economics. I'm not including UGA because they don't have a BS in Economics. Would my job prospect, future salary, etc increase if I transferred to Tech? Which program has a better ranking?

not likely, although GT is a better school with better profs, research, and students. It also has a national reputation that GSU does not, but that doesn’t mean more money necessarily. Once you’re out of school a couple years, nobody cares where you went to school but what you’ve done since you graduated.

If you can transfer to GT and can afford it, then you should. It is doubtful that GSU is better than GT at anything. Starting salary should be higher (who knows how much?) and GT gets national recruiters compared to only regional and state at GSU.

BS vs. BA doesn’t matter, and UGA has an AB (bachelor’s of arts) in economics. So if you wanted to consider UGA, that’s an option for you.

I would transfer from GSU to GT, if I could. GT’s business school is much better known and ranked than GSU’s, and even though you wouldn’t be in the business school (economics is in Ivan Allen), you would have access to their classes and career services - as well as the recruiting that Tech draws. Tech would likely have better recruiters than GSU. And the price won’t be different if you are in-state - GSU and Tech cost the same amount for Georgia residents.
