Georgia Tech #1 choice

Well with the calculus im definitely going to have to step it up. Ill have more time to study.

And ouch, thats a pretty harsh joke coming from the ladies… I mean im not socially akward, but im not Don Juan either.

I’d say the:

“The odds are good, but the goods are odd.”

Is a pretty accurate way to put it.

I got in, but I didn’t submit my SAT score. My SAT was a 560 CR, 610 M, 570 W. But I submitted my ACT scores which was (highest combined) a: 31 Reading, 28 Math, 29 English, 25 Science.

It’s a good thing you took the ACT.

Yeah, luckily I did or else I doubt I would have gotten in. I am not a really good standardized test taker as you can see…so I was surprised that I actually got in to GT in the first place especially since applications have increased by like 2,000 more this year for the same number of spots.

MistaF1, did you get in???

Nope :(

how would you study at a tech institute with a 490 in math? I got 600 in math SAT in 7th grade…

ya, this was not a huge shocker.

I honestly don’t know how he even got into VT or Clemson. Granted, those aren’t GT by any mean, but they are still good schools. He belongs at a school more like Georgia State (but that is still a small reach).

i think he was ROTC??

Is he a URM? I still can’t get over the 490 SAT for UGA…I mean, I don’t know much about VT and Clemson but UGA isn’t 490 material, in my opinion…Well, most people I know go for the Honors/Fellowship thing so I guess… <_<

I just read the link someone posted; I wonder why he won’t go to UGA? Better than clemson and VT

ya, I was questioning that too. Especially when the average score for early admission was a 1320, not even close to around 1000.

In the link posted by G.P.Burdell, the OP says he’s a URM.
URM or not, how is anyone who struggles with math going to survive an engineering curriculum at ANY college?

He references Business, Computer Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering as possible majors. UGA only has one of three.
