While a few websites I looked at list a 33% acceptance rate for Georgia Tech (as in Georgia Institute of Technology), one website claims it has a 55% acceptance rate. The site it was on was the niche/college prowler website which is sometimes seen as unreliable. However, with a acceptance rate that far off, it is hard not to wonder why it is so inaccurate. Does anyone have confirmation on which is right/jus
The admit rate for 2015 is actually 31%. It was 33% in 2014. 55% is an older number.
Also the admit rates are higher for in-state and lower for OOS.
Tech’s admit rate dropped around the time they joined the common app.
From what I remember it’s admit rate was a little above 30%. Sometimes websites have old or inaccurately reported data, so I’d go to the University’s website itself for the most reliable info.
Yes the admit rate is around 30% (33% I think). It’s been steadily dropping, a few years ago it was 41%. However, the admit rates between EA and RD are somewhat different. If you have a 2000+ SAT and are solid with grades, extracurriculars and essays, then during EA I guarantee you have a 95+% chance of being accepted. Not joking. It’s much easier to get into GIT EA. During RD, the odds are a little against you. My friend got into Cornell but was rejected flat out from GIT; he most likely would have gotten in EA because his stats were pretty good. So essentially, the EA rate>RD rate.
EA Admit rate was 45% in the most recent cycle and RD admit rate was 20%.
Early decision and early action at every school we looked at had higher admit rates— including Ivies.
