My s has a 3.7 Weighted GPA and a 29 in ACT .he also did Math2c and has a 740, and also Chemistry with 700. What are his chances at Geogia Tech, Purdue, RPI and Rochester. We are from Connecticut

bump......bump

Much better at Purdue.

Purdue will be the easiest to get into (85% acceptance rate, 1020-1250 middle 50% SAT), but I'd say he also has a pretty good shot at Georgia Tech (69% acceptance rate). His 29 ACT is pretty solid; it translates roughly to an SAT of 1320-1350 (w/o writing), which should put him somewhere around the median or slightly above for Georgia Tech (1230-1400 middle 50%). His SAT IIs are also quite good. For that matter, RPI's stats are almost identical to Georgia Tech's with only a slightly lower acceptance rate (62%, 1220-1420 middle 50% SAT). Rochester would be the hardest, even though its SATs are quite similar to RPI and Ga Tech (1230-1420 SAT); with its 45% acceptance rate, you'd have to rate it a "reach."

So I'd say:

Reach: U Rochester
Low Reach: RPI
Match: Georgia Tech
Safety: Purdue

But he probably has a decent shot at any of these schools.

Purdue is extremely well known for admitting anyone and then throwing them under a train.

specifically the boilermaker, their mascot

The only think that Purdue suck at are 2 things

1)Location.... Seriously, I am from MA...Where the hell is West Lafayette?
2)Comp Sci and Physical Science are weak.

1)Draw a straight line from Indianapolis to Chicago (3 hrs), divide into thirds, 1/3 to Indy, 2/3 to Chicago.
