Your sat will drag you down. Did you apply early? I’d suggest taking the sat and/or act (you might find out you’re better at the act as it’s more math and science based) again if you didn’t or in case you get deferred. If you’re a girl, getting in will also be a lot easier.
You need to retake the SAT in January and improve your score to 1400 or above. Maybe a bit lower if you are in-state. Only 1% of admitted students have SAT scores in your band and they are likely recruited athletes. You should probably take the ACT in February as well, some people prefer one over the other.
Okay, thank you for replying. I’m going to retake the sat January
Your community work is outstanding, you’ve got some really cool awards W GPA is very good. Have you taken any APs? Your SAT is dragging down your chances, though. I second what @TooOld4School said - you need to raise it at least 300 points, 400 to be a really competitive candidate. But scores aren’t all that matters - if your recommendations are top notch and you’ve been taking the hardest courses available and you show you’re very determined, you’ll have a very good shot.
Best of luck!!!
LaikaDoodles firstly, thank you so much for replying and the respective feedback! It really helps me a lot. As far as A.P. Courses, I took 3 A.Ps so far, currently taking 3 right now and by graduation in June I will have taken 6 out if the 7 A.P. Courses offered to me at my high school. I will retake the SAT in January I’m aiming for a 1300-1400 ish score so pray for me lol. My recommendations are great my A.P Calculus and A.P. U.S. History Teacher wrote one for me. They know me personally and I trimpuh successfully in the their class well.
