I am an instate Asian male, and would be applying to GA tech this year. I have 34 on ACT(35M, 34 E, 34 R, 33 Science, 8/12 on essay). I got a 780 on Math SAT II and have a weighted GPA of 4.18. I have about 100 volunteer hours in local organizations, some in leadership positions. What are my chances of getting into Tech?
Your ACT scores and GPA are great. Volunteering and having a leadership position is a plus. Your chances are really good :)>-
Your stats look good. How rigorous are your classes? Also, are you doing early action or regular decision?
Your scores and stats are above average for students they admit, so you have a great chance. See the profile for admitted freshmen here: http://admission.gatech.edu/content/freshman-admission
By high school graduation, I would have done 10 AP classes and have been in several honors classes. I am going to apply early action. I was wondering if I should give ACT one more time, as I have given it only once.
I got accepted into gatech last January. I had a 34 math 33 English and 31 writing English(which are the only three they look at) and 780 math 690 English 690 reading for SAT. I’m also an instate Asian male whose had 10 aps and 3.97 gps unweighted, 50hrs of volunteer work, some clubs with one being a captain I.e. leadership position. I think gatech is a match for you, but apply EA- EA is easier to get into than rd.
What is your unweighted GPA? If it is 3.7+, I think your chances will be good.
Deferred! Can’t understand why. Any advice on what I should do?
@ycollege123 You should submit your first semester senior grades. Depending on how GIT views them, they could really help your chances. On a side note, I think Georgia Tech just got crazy competitive this year. I was flat out rejected with a 3.73 Unweighted GPA and a 34 ACT.
