OOS @Xboxgamergirl
Test comment plzignore
@3xploit I think u have a good shot!
Anyone know if GT looks at other applicants in your class in making your decision for OOS? Cuz I’m from a class with crazy talented people.
@Fireball99 they don’t. They don’t have a cap for number of students from any school, in state or out.
@Fireball99 They don’t have a cap, but they compare your school scores to that of the school’s. They will see how you did compared to your class pool overall-not necessarily those who just applied to tech
Chance Me
OOS Male Mechanical Engineering
SAT 2180
Unweighted GPA 3.6
Weighted GPA 4.2
Played baseball 4 years, basketball 2
Taking AP Physics B and C and have calc AB, AP lang, and AP US History

Chance me’s go in a different thread
@Xboxgamergirl so theoretically all 20-something of us who applied could get in?
@Fireball99 oh yeah! Easily! And having 20 ppl from ur school is not alot at all. My school has about a 100 + applying to tech
Our OOS varies dramatically how many get into GT each year like from 1-10. Usually it makes sense who gets in though last year a friend whose scores and grades were high did not get in. When you look at the graph on naviance for us it makes total sense except that one person. He was a quiet person but well liked by teachers and friends. Maybe they thought he wouldn’t go if admitted?
@Fireball99 definitely possible. See this: http://factbook.gatech.edu/admissions-and-enrollment/sources-of-entering-freshmen/ (and this is just enrolled, not admitted)
Also, just got an email confirming the decisions will be released on mydecision.gatech.edu
I just got the same e-mail. Less than 4 days guys!
presumabely we can also see it on Buzzport after 1pm
I got the same e-mail too! This makes me nervous…
For those wondering what is weighted most heavily in the admissions process, GA Tech says the following:
Most important:
Academic Performance
Course Rigour
ACT/SAT
Extracurriculars
Personal Essays
Less Important/Optional:
School Report
Rec Letters
Subject Tests
AP/IB
Online Interview (International)
Notice that class rank is not considered.
@Hermit9 I agree that class rank is not mentioned. However, they do not sit converting your GPA to the “Tech” GPA. Instead, they look at how your GPA compares with other students who applied from your school. This is what my rep told me when she visited our school. Every school offers different courses, for instance, your school may offer many more APs when compared to my school, but they cannot penalize me for that, since I did not have the opportunity to take as many APs as you did. So, they compare me to other people from my school to see where I stand.
@CHCollege123 Georgia Tech has stated explicitly that they do not consider class rank.
