***Georgia Tech Class of 2020 EA Applicant Thread***

Can deferred students send in new test scores that were taken after the early app deadline? If so, do we simply send them through the testing agency?

@Abwee67 I was accepted and I got an email. My friends who were deferred got emails too

Deferred…

2260 SAT
800 Math
770 Writing
690 Reading
In-state student
Major: Computer Science
3.929/4.000 Unweighted GPA
About 4.5 Weighted GPA
Top 5% of school
Asian Male (probably number 1 reason why I got deferred)

@infiniteCircle Georgia Tech does not admit by major. When you log on to you buzzport, it should have your major listed. If it does not then go onto to your profile and enter that information.

Accepted and girl majoring in CS from cali
2260 SAT: 800 writing, 760 Math, 700 Reading

Seems like more and more girls are being accepted. I guess GA Tech really wants to balance female and male genders. Sorta wish I was a girl now :frowning: Anyways, congratulations!

@Maple2020 Scholarships come out in Feb I think. I think he has a shot for the presidential scholarship with his awesome scores, which is huge. If not, it will be something else significant.

Deferred, 32 ACT, 10 AP’s :expressionless: a little bummed but oh well
congrats to everyone who got in!
I did not receive any email, should I be concerned? (also, does anyone have any advice on getting in RD? ty  )

How many deferred students were ultimately accepted last year?
“Approximately 16% of deferred students were ultimately accepted for the 2015 freshman class.”
There is no way that this is true, or else I would have a super low chance…
Do you think that maybe this is a statistical error? Maybe 16 percent of deferred students go into the 2015 freshman class?

@sakamotohiroshii No, I believe that number is correct. Regular decision (which would include deferred EA applicants) usually has an acceptance rate < 20%.

@itsv thanks for the info.

@hkian9 same! not sure how to feel about this. LOL
