On the Deferral form, you’re supposed to list any updates and it’s stated clearly that they don’t want anything that is on your common application. My son doesn’t have any additional awards or honors since basically October 15th (when EA app was submitted), but I hate for him to leave this section blank. Should he add grades, although I know they will see those on his mid-year report? Should he just write something about his continued interest in the school? Any suggestions?
No email about merit scholarships yet–I’d only be able to consider Tech if I got money 
Would they still let us know even if we didn’t get a merit scholarship?
@bahiablue I wouldn’t leave it blank - I think it’s a good idea to reiterate why you want to go to Georgia Tech and why it’s one of your son’s top schools.

Also got my packet today. Info on housing, financial aid, and letters from the dean of math.

Congratulations on your acceptance. Last year a lot of freshman used the Facebook page to request and find roommates. People give a short intro and also use a template that is more descriptive than housing application ( favorite TV shows, activities, etc). Once you find a roommate you go back to housing application roommate section and request them and they have to accept your request. If you plan on going to FASET registration in the summer you can potentially sign up for same session to meet in person.
Just as a FYI if you are OOS you can go to your local Bed &Bath and pick out all your dorm gear and pick it up at store in Atlanta. There are two stores close to GT. Get on the Bed&Bath mailing list and they will send 25% off entire purchase coupon during summer - it is a big help!

Provost Scholars: Students will be notified via email within two weeks of admission decision release for both the Early Action and Regular Decision application rounds. Students who are not awarded will not be contacted.
Forty Provost Scholars are chosen from the pool of thousands of accepted freshman from outside the state of Georgia.
Presidential Scholarship notifications come out this Saturday (source is email from Georgia Tech)
I’m assuming Provost Scholars also come out by then because it’ll be two weeks after the admission decision release.
