Anyone know when we’ll hear about the Provost scholarship? Will it be on the same day when we hear about the Presidential Scholarship?
@wannabeBlueDevil There are several ones, but they all consist of current students. I might make one unless there is a legit one with only admitted students!
For the admitted students, there is a groupchat! @EF431x
@laviedemoi99 link not working
So sorry! I’ll try to fix it!
Ugh, looks like I can’t! Y’all can PM though so I can add y’all asap!
@laviedemoi99 @wannabeBlueDevil There is a good Georgia Tech Class of 2021 Closed Facebook group with about 450 members and growing. Look for the one with the profile pic of Tech Tower. It was created similar to the open 2020 group from last year. Once you join, there is also an invitation to a groupme. @sramirez4026
https://www.facebook.com/groups/gt2021/
can you post the link to the group? i cant find it
Do you need a facebook account to get that groupme invitation?
@PAZ2017IND my OOSS also received the same message. Help with this anyone?

I heard 31400 kids applied. Wow no wonder it is so brutal there.
@moooss3 I’d email the admissions office. It may just be an error on their end.

@qwer7y First, none of us can truly point to individual factors and say those were what got you rejected. None of us were in the room.
But to sort of answer your question, the biggest thing that stands out to me is that you’re an international applicant. It’s much harder for you than it is for domestic applicants. If you applied for financial aid, it’s even harder. Other than that, I can’t point to anything on your application which got you rejected.
College admissions just sucks sometimes

@qwer7y college admissions process is very unpredictable. Some colleges even deny people with perfect SAT. However, in your case, I might have some idea. considering that you did not take TOEFL and took IGCSE, I’m gonna guess that you are in the British education system and English is your first language (if it is not then that is the problem). My college counselor once told me that American colleges have a bias towards American transcript. If you are an international student, it is considerably better if you have an American transcript and takes SATs in the US (if you take it in Asia, there is a chance they will disregard your score just because of the number of cheating incidents that had happened). Unfortunately, the only way to do this is to go to school in the US.
I am an international Asian male applicant who just happens to go to school in the US. My stats are not as good as yours but thankfully I was accepted.
