***Georgia Tech Class of 2022 EA Applicant Thread***

aerospace engineering @piday314

I’m also an in-state black female @piday314

This wait is so nerve racking!! I wish GT had an early decision because I know I would’ve applied ED.

same @abenge

Where else did everyone apply?

what’s the logic of hand delivering admission letters? Are those the Stamps scholarship invitees? Minorities? Low income? Or just random? The couple pictures featured only white girls.

Do Gtech consider 2 major during admission?

does anyone know how important it is to take an AP calc course for tech’s early action? I know last year 96% of early action admits took ap calc… I took precalc in my junior and current taking BC calc in senior year, but calc isn’t shown on my transcript for early action application

@laughsnervously it’s pretty important, but as long as you are taking it in high school you should be fine. I have a friend who was accepted EA last year and she didn’t take AP calc until her senior year.

@abenge I applied as a Mathematics major

Getting nervous now. White male OOS, applied to Mech Eng. Have Michigan to fall back on thankfully if things don’t work out here.

“Interestingly, 47 percent of the admitted students are non-engineering majors.”

There are many liberal arts students that are admitted who must go to another accredited campus and after 1yr if their grades are good enough can transfer to GT but are restricted from transfer into engineering. It’s called the “arts and sciences pathway”. So they are admitted but can’t come immediately… and most probably won’t make it through the extra hoops. More than likely they will just stay at their initial school. The majority of these students are Georgia residents. Also there is a similar program for legacy students… They are admitted but can come only after spending a year at another accredited college.

Out of 4700 admits roughly 1200 will fall into these programs.

@smartboy108 What do you mean? Buzzport seems the same for me.

Do you have to buzzport account to check your application status?

This article says, ‘A handful of students learned that they got in a day early.’
Did anybody here get their decision on Jan 12? Or was that only for GA students to whom their acceptance letters were delivered personally?

@happygal2017 that’s cuz tech admissions went around Georgia high schools to hand out acceptances.

@candipig Alright, thanks.
trying not to lose her sanity

Can everyone check BuzzPort and go to the Applicant section and tell me what they see?

@candipig just the usual. “Thank you for your application”

@candipig buzzport and application status are different pages. Application status says
