-I thought my common app one is pretty good. It’s about overcoming challenges in robotics. I didn’t hear about the SSEP decision until December, so I couldn’t write about that sadly. I emailed them about it though and they said they would add it to my file.
-I didn’t think my Georgia tech ones were very good to be honest, but they’re okay.
You’re a strong candidate! At this point it’s out of all of our hands so I’d recommend just chilling out watching a boatload of netflix while waiting for Saturday the 12th, and don’t worry my GT supplemental essays weren’t too good either so fingers crossed!

Essays:
Common app was pretty ok, but it sounded pretentious according to many of my friends who helped me with it. I revised it for my regular schools. Definitely a unique topic.
GT Essays were personal (I wrote about how Jarvis Johnson, a GT alum, inspired me to learn programming further and how I wanted to be around people like that at GT), but not really focused on why I wanted to go to Georgia Tech. They were eh, tbh. They didn’t really give off the vibe that I really wanted to attend GT or that I did a lot of research on the school. I wrote about how running my hackathon was akin to running a business.
LORS:
Counselor: 8/10
I know GT only looks at two, but my counselor sent it in with naviance so GT got all my recs. Idk which teacher they’ll read.
Physics Teacher: 9/10,
Math teacher: 8/10, they both know I work hard in their classes, and they like my personality. They really want me to succeed. They’ll probably talk about how I don’t just want myself to have good grades, I try to help others (with my website and staying afterschool to help others)
I heard that they care more about the academics than the essays, but idk. I don’t think my essays are garbage, but they definitely could’ve used some work.
Yeah, that’s what I’ve been trying to do haha. It’s already tough with only one college releasing results soon, so I’m not looking forward to the weeks before march…
Is there any kind of a “head’s up” that helps you know a little early if you got in or not? I’m hearing about other schools giving signs like requesting more info for possible merit aid, not necessarily financial aid, and that’s a sign that you’ve been accepted. Just curious.
What do you guys think are my chances of getting accepted to GT?

@SlimJim005 The only heads up I know about is that GT admissions years ago might visit one Georgia high school and tell a student that they got in the day before. But I don’t think they do that anymore.
They still visit schools/homes day before. Last year they visited an underrepresented school in my area. Year before they visited a home-schooled acquaintance.
My son got e mail, that its noon on Saturday. He is at a school event, so we told him he cant check e mail until he gets home. We will see how that goes.
Three years ago they came to my kids’ high school. Called them all in and took their photo etc. It was thrilling for them, but of course sad for the ones that didn’t get in EA.
