Good luck to everyone! Decisions will be out on March 14th at 1:59PM EST for anyone who still hasn’t heard yet.

Hey would be you please chance me for GT Mech Engineering…
I’m an International student doing 5 A-Levels, Predicted 5As. ( Maths, further maths physics economics chemistry ). A-Levels are usually very, very rigorous when compared to the American Diploma. The average UK student does 3 A Levels and I’m the only one in my school to do 5 A-Level exams. I have very solid GCSE/IGCSE grades (10As-As). I think the 5 A Levels would translate into doing 10-12 APs and a Score of an A* is probably equivalent to a 5. I have very strong Essays and Recommendation letters ( My teacher mentioned that I was in her top 5 to ever teach!). IN ECs, I did a 55 hour internship at an engineering company, MUN, I teach AS Further Mathematics at School( for grade 11 students) , also assisted in teaching grade 8 maths. Charity committee at school. Learning german ( as a third language outside school), played alot of tennis and participated in tournaments. But I think the thing that would make me stand out a bit is that I ended up achieving the highest mark in all of my country for mathematics and physics this year. I’ve done the SAT and achieved a score of 1420 ( 800 Maths 620 English). IN my GT essay, I kept on talking about the coop offered at GT, the free credit hours available, virtually integrated projects, the research of a certain professor and how that appeals to me, also , talked about Atlanta’s prospering economy.
Anxiously waiting for my son’s decision here… Thanks for starting a new thread
@yw123 Congrats on your achievements! It’s hard at a top STEM school like GT to chance, but you’ll know tomorrow. You can look at the Georgia Tech 2024 EA thread to see results so far this year, but its pretty brutal for out of state (don’t recall international). My DD is OOS, a full IB diploma candidate with 4 high level (HL) subjects (similar to A levels). 3.96 GPA UW/4.8 W and 1550 SAT. She applied to College of Computing in Early Action and was deferred. Engineering seemed similar. In our limited experience, most U.S. universities are more comfortable with AP vs IB or A levels, since they have more experience with them. For example, most schools don’t give as much transfer credit for an HL Computer Science test than they will for a AP Comp Sci. But AP is an easier course and a pre-req for HL. Despite that, universities love international applicants, so good luck to you!!
Results posted tomorrow afternoon at 1:59 pm (on pi day)
Thank you! I’m hoping for the best as GT is my top choice!! Good Luck to your daughter!!!
