Not a huge surprise, not accepted. Offered pathway - which is just an offer to apply to transfer next year after getting 30 credit hours. Congratulations to everyone who was accepted!

Which pathway?

I’m seeing a TON of waitlisted… do you think this forum reflects the general release percentages?

Last year they offered over 6k places on the waitlist. Likely the same this year. Hopefully there have been enough acceptances since applications were due that many will decline. I do know a couple kids got off that we know 2 years ago.

doubt it. my take is that there are a high number of high-achieving students who tend to look at forums. So it makes sense for the forum results to be more positive than the regular results.

hannah who got in everywhere. congrats accepted to Gtech is HUGE accomplishment.

I have heard that the GT waitlist is neither need blind nor major blind. Anyone know one way or another?

omg i remember you from UIUC. youre the person who had the statistics quiz right??

I got rejected. Not even waitlist. I’m an international though. Is it extra hard for internals to get in? I’m losing heart darn painful…

I was going for biomedical engineering and got rejected. Never know the reason but this major is probably harder to get in if the major awareness is true. I never have an opportunity to know anything about waitlist… :sleepy:

College of Arts and Science - daughter is pursuing International Affairs degree.

I wonder if they actually waitlisted more this year since there were a lot more applicants and also if perhaps fewer were accepted in this round than usual (not sure what is typical as I haven’t really paid attention to their stats) it’s because students aren’t committing yet and pulling their applications to schools as we’ve very well seen how many people have said their sons/daughters are holding them all until May 1 since they “can”, so GT is preparing for that onslaught of open slots, plus affordability factor and if internationals won’t be able to commit/attend which I heard is still a possibility due to vaccines in other countries, etc.

Just more waiting.

GT had a blog post about waitlists this year. I took it as there would be more waitlist this year because of the unknowns. It was an interesting read.

My daughter was accepted in EA round, but is waiting for her other acceptances that are all coming out in next 3 weeks. She will definitely immediately withdraw her spot at GT if she gets into one her other preferred schools. Feel bad for all the WLs today!
