I would contact admission via email. Address is on their website to confirm. I believe you do have to apply to the major you originally submitted your application for and there are different transfer requirements and courses required for each different major so be sure you have completed the transfer requirements for the major your son originally applied for. You have to look at those requirements and use the transfer equivalency table to be sure the classes your child took or is taking transfer to Tech and satisfy those requirements.
I called undergraduate admission, and the answer I got was: You can apply any major you want. We never had the doubt before until days back, from another group, one student admitted as conditional transfer last year said he was given a major (biology). Things might change between these two years. But anyways since my son wanted to apply to the major as he did last year (and am working toward it according to the major transfer requirement), we feel better now by GT’s answer.
