I am waitlisted. FML. :(

Hey, that’s pretty unusual…
u got accepted to UIUC, right??
the acceptance rate for both of them is in the sixties
(UIUC’s acceptance rate for CS/Comp Engg is even less)

Still, u don’t need 2 worry as I think dat UIUC’s CS/Comp Engg is better than GaTech, not to mention the huge difference in the social scene…
best of luck!

Well, yeah UIUC is better… But it’s just that I was confident that I would get in.
Were you accepted at GT?

same here… accepted to UIUC waitlisted at tech…but Tech is more selective for international students as compared to UIUC because Tech is a public school

UIUC is a public school too! Flagship university of Illinois!

I didn’t apply to Georgia Tech…
(coz of the foreign evaluation crap)

@AkshayM:
Even UIUC’s a public school…
looks like Tech has changed dere policies 2wards internationals…

I just hope UMich hasn’t changed its policies 2wards internationals…
though wud b huge confusion in deciding b/w UIUC & Umich if accepted dere too…

Yeah. Same here Pulkit. However, I’ve not got a decision from UMich yet. Have you?

me neither, I’ve heard that UMich begins to release its decisions april onwards(rolling)…
Best Of Luck…

Thanks!
Same to you!

have you guys accepted the waitlist offer?.. are you sending any transcripts?

I’ve accepted the waitlist offer. However, I’ve already passed my 12th grade (took a gap year), so I have no updates to any of my transcripts.

I guess the foreign credential evaluation part really does us in… it was just evaluated on the class 10th board examinations and it doesn’t give a picture at all of rigor of curriculum or consistency. I dont mean to be arrogant here but what we study in maths and science in 11th and 12th is almost as tough as the AP courses and I wish they had a bit more understanding of the Indian curriculum, instead of considering the evaluation only.

Goodluck to those waitlisted! Keep the faith :)

I got waitlisted too, but things are looking up for it. Typically, only a fraction of their accepted applicants commit to it, which opens a lot of space up. Remember that the reason is only for space issues, and that this means you are their kind of student. I have a feeling students who submitted at the last minute got less priority in consideration. Good luck with your spot! We’re competing :o

@gary:
Thanks :)

i am in the same boat as you guys… i’m indian 2.

accepted to UIUC-engineering… waitlisted at Georgia Tech and
waiting for a reply from UMich…

hurry up UMich, now would be an appropriate time to reveal the ‘forbidden results’ …

oh… the despair…
lol

Now, its officially getting on my nerves-
UMich still haven’t notified me of decision or anything else!

No Indian has received anything from UM it seems…

that’s a bummer…
is UMich fed up of all indian students?

Btw, pulkit are you applying from india or from another region as an international indian applicant?

Indian ,applying frm India
