Georgia Tech decisions

hi folks,

i got into G Tech, UIUC and CMU…electrical engg…can you pl help me decide…

All 3 r good univs
bt 4 electrical engg., UIUC is d best

Hi… I have got in U Mich (Engg), Georgia Tech (Comp Engg) and UIUC. Am having a tough time deciding between U Mich and G Tech!!!am not planning to pursue UIUC

dont want to sound like an ass,
but when colleges wait list u, what does that mean? ur not good enough or is there a dearth of vacancies?
does it make sense accepting their w8 list offer?

well its probably obvious…all students accepted dont enroll… there will be vacancies later(heck even MIT doesnt have all ~1000 seats filled from the 1600 accepted ones-they also take some from the waitlist)… its because you’re good… not good enough for them to be in their accepted ones straight off, but you were very close(and the waitlist is quite small too)its simply because people apply to many places… ultimately you choose one so for the other colleges there is one more person not accepting … colleges expect a certain enrollment rate from their past experiences and then they prepare a waitlist … people from the waitlist do get accepted later if there are vacancies or they might not get accepted… if u like the college and wanna go there, you should accept the waitlist offer

I gt a mail from UMich on April 14th:

It gives me great pleasure to inform you that we have recommended you for admission to the Computer Science and Engineering Graduate Program at the University of Michigan for the term and degree level listed below. Your application has been forwarded with or recommendation to the Horace H. Rackham School of Graduate Studies, they will advise you officially regarding your admission status (in a few weeks when processing is complete).

Its an admit frm CS school bt still havnt received any mail frm Rackham school.

I too have an admit from Gatech for MS in CS. From what I hav found out till now is that jobs at GT are more than that at UMich. Is it true?

Also, what would you rate Gatech on 1 to 10 in terms of reputation and popularity if UMich is 10 ??
