Can confirm that last year the Stamps Semifinalist invitations went out before EA2 (OOS) acceptances. So a set of lucky kids found out that they got in and were semifinalists at the same time, before all the other OOS acceptances! Not sure if it’ll be the same this year or not.

It cannot go out after the acceptances as the interviews are scheduled end of January. The stamps semi finalists decisions for oos students are sent out mid January

In state stamps decision timeline is different since it comes out in Dec and they have until Jan end for the interviews.
Do they send an email notifying the semifinalists? Or do applicants have to keep checking the portal?
Other threads from last year said email notification.

Does anyone know how many OOS people get invited to stamps, and is it based on some numbers threshold like gpa/sat/rank?
Found number of semifinalists on the web…
About 20,000 high school seniors apply for admission by the early action deadline each year (the deadline is October 18 for GA residents and November 1 for non-GA residents), and 325 of those admitted will be selected as semifinalists for the Stamps President’s and Gold Scholarships. The semifinalist pool will participate in a virtual, asynchronous interview. All semifinalists will also be asked to submit additional documentation, including a resume.
Around 100 finalists will be named in February and invited to participate in Scholars Weekend in March for additional activities and interviews. Those finalists who choose to attend Georgia Tech the next fall will join the Office of Special Scholarships community as either a Stamps President’s Scholar or a Gold Scholar.

Is there a way to update Georgia Tech about the mid-year grades for the seventh semester before EA2 decisions? Is it advisable to do that if the seventh-semester coursework is rigorous and grades are perfect (and past grades were good but not perfect)? If so how do we do it? Thanks
Portal has an upload option
We recently discussed this question with a GT regional admissions officer. They will only accept updated grades if they are on the official high school transcript. Also I suspect most of the decisions have already been made for EA2 but if you have strong updated official grades, it doesn’t hurt sending them.
Thank you so much. The school counselor will update the mid-year transcripts on the Common App portal next week. But we should upload an official version ourselves on the Georgia Tech portal with a cover letter, right?

When will stamps come out this year?
No date specified - website still says “mid-January” (for OOS applicants - in-state were notified in December).
Last year, EA2 Stamps semifinalists were notified on Jan 13th and admission decisions were released on Jan 23rd.
Did you receive the email yesterday? It says EAII decision will be released on Jan 29.
I think my D received that email on Monday - and that date has been on GTech’s website since at least Jan 6th (see posts from that day above).
