Georgia tech has the worst tech support ever? I cant do my app. What should my next steps be?

So as you may know GT’s priority deadline is about 5 days from now.

I got my FAFSA and CSS form in aagggess ago. I am just trying to get the final requirement of some sorta extra application they want you to fill out done (hopefully they do not have an essay)… I have been trying to do that for the last few weeks.

Unfortunately, although I can login to buzz-port fine there is a technical error on their side when I click the application. Basically for some reason they cant get my login info into the GT financial aid app.

As you can imagine this has been a point of stress for our family. I have sent multiple emails their way, but it has been difficult due to slow response times. One time they said they fixed it when they haven’t. I am not sure wether or not they have ignored some emails. Still hoping to hear from my assigned FA counselor.

I have also sent multiple phone calls to various departments and each of the financial aid counselors. The only time I have actually been able to talk to a person is someone in technical support. He refused to help me because he believed I had to submit my enrollment deposit and commit to go to the school before I applied for financial aid. All other calls have gone to answering machines. I have left some messages but no replies.

This is really taking a toll on me because I have either been missing school, or missing sleep in order to call them during their east coast office hours (I am west coast). This has been happening about every day. I have been telling my parents that I am making progress so they will stop getting angry at me about it, but in reality I am basically exactly where I was last week when I first noticed this problem.

I really dont know what is going on. Perhaps I am to persistent and made them angry? Perhaps they just don’t care?

What can I do at this point?

Also if you did fill out the application can you please tell me what was on it so I can prepare to fill it out quickly should they ever resolve the error?

Have you tried using a different browser to access the site? There is a professional site I use for work- a lot- and I started having trouble with my log in and password when I tried to access it from my home computer. Their tech support suggested using a different browser and for whatever reason- voila! simple solution! Works like a charm and no bugs…

@blossom Well… that was it! I tried Firefox and it worked. Halleluiah!

Glad I could help. I am the least tech savvy person on the planet- my co-workers will die laughing when I tell them I helped someone with a computer problem! Good luck!

@Cubby208 - what was the browser that did not work? (might be helpful for others in the future)

Chrome did not work properly whereas Firefox did. @blossom its funny because I am into programming and computers in general… so in a way you out-tech supported a computer programmer. Well done (and thanks)
