Georgia Tech or Michigan for Computer Science?

Who has the better Computer Science Program, Georgia Tech or Michigan?

I ranked them about the same…but it depends on what you want to specialize in and if there are professors doing research in the area you’re interested in.

US News has GT ranked 10 and UMich ranked 13 for CS. I think it’s close enough that it just depends on other factors you like about the schools, tuition, etc., and what research their professors are doing that you like.

Academically / Departmentally they’re essentially equal. I’d go with which school has a better ‘fit’ or the one that is significantly cheaper than the other.

Also note, according to the undergraduate rankings : http://colleges.usnews.rankingsandreviews.com/best-colleges/rankings/engineering-doctorate-computer</a> : Gtech and UM are 6 & 8 respectively.

Academically, they are equal, but Michigan is much more well rounded. Assuming cost is not a factor, I would recommend Michigan over GT.
