I was wondering whether it would make a huge difference whether I went to purdue or ga tech for bme + pre med.
Finances aren't an issue, but I'm looking for a place that can provide me with good research experience, internships, and volunteer opportunities (with nearby medical centers).

Also, I was wondering whether ga tech grads in bme would have a better job placement in the industry than purdue grads. Due to the difference in rank, it seems plausible but I'm not sure.

Georgia Tech’s program is bigger (638 undergrads vs. 134 undergrads at Purdue) so it attracts more employers than Purdue.

If you look at R&D Research Expenditures, GT spent $29.707 million in BME R&D in 2007 (last data available) while Purdue spent $3.727 million in BME R&D in the same year. Data here: http://www.nsf.gov/statistics/nsf09303/pdf/tab64.pdf . GT also recently received a $25 million NIH grant for BME research. So there are more research opportunities at GT than at Purdue.

As far as Med School goes, GT’s BME program is jointly administered with Emory’s Medical School. So I’m sure there are opportunities to meet / work with Emory Med professors.
