Georgia Tech Summer Session

i was recently accepted into the GT summer session. I don’t remember if i said yes to it or not on the application, but I heard there was no way to move into fall admission. I am out of the country all summer to visit my grandparents after years of saving up for the ticket, so summer isn’t an option for me.

I was wondering how did they even choose summer kids ? I heard rumors that it’s for the dumber kids who aren’t “ready” yet. I applied to GT with a lower benchmark sat, but i recently took the ACT and got a 33. That probably still isn’t good enough for GT compared to other admits, but do you think i could convince admissions to change me to fall if i show them i am ready? i’m valedictorian of my class and have over 70 college credits & took all the way up to college calculus III so it’s kinda frustrating if they think i’m just not ready for college.

I am also out of state and low income, which seems like another semester would be way more expensive.

I don’t know i’m still weighing my options and the summer session seems like a curveball. i am really interested in GT though.

you could always call and talk to someone in admissions to ask them. I heard that many students are now deferring admissions for a year and taking a gap year due to COVID-19, so maybe that would open a fall spot for you??? Also, at this point they may not be sure what they are even going to do about the summer sessions.
