Georgia Tech- Test Scores chance of getting in

So I'm an in-state resident, I live right in Atlanta 20 minutes from campus.
I have all the ECs, the GPA, the diversity, I might even have the essay.

The only problem: my SAT math score is about 60 points below the middle 50 percent.
I got a 32 on the ACT, 30 on math, 35 reading, 33 writing.
I have a 2020 SAT, 640 on the math, 710 writing, 670 reading.

So I know they really want someone good at math, and I LOVE math, I just suck at the tricky SAT math, literally the only math I've ever had a hard time with.

Soooo how much do you all think that will effect my chances?

In response to your question, of course your SAT scores are going to affect your chances. Yes, they want people with 34+ ACT Math, but I have seen many people get in with scores below that. Given that you are in state, however, I believe your chances increase significantly, and might even compensate for your average SAT/ACT scores. Also, you said your GPA is good, so that increases your chances significantly, congratulations! It’s hard to give a concrete reply, given that the acceptances last year were all over the place. Overall, I think you have a good shot, especially if you are a girl/minority/you have outstanding ECs/have a redeeming essay.

I plan on submitting my App sometime within the next few days, perhaps you could take a look at my stats and tell me what you think my chances are?

Thanks! Good Luck to you!!!

Thank you so much for your reply! To be completely honest with you, I would be surprised if you didn’t get accepted. You are out of state which automatically makes you an attractive applicant, your scores are great, you have the leadership, the experience, the overall character they look for in students. I know ALOT of people who go to Tech, and I can honestly say you beat most of them as far as the quality of your application, granted all the people I know are from in-state.
Overall, if I was an admissions officer, I’d let you in. If you get rejected, it would kind of be their loss.
I too am in Tri-M Music Honor Society!
We don’t have a science Honor Society at my school :frowning: I really wish we did.

If you have any questions about Tech you think I could answer let me know, again I have so many friends going there, I could easily ask any one of them for you, and I know alot of people who are dual enrolled there, so I’d love to help!

I applied Monday!! Good Luck!!! not that you need it :)
