Georgia Tech transfer average gpa for computer science?

Hello guys,

I am thinking of applying to gatech for fall 2016 for computer science. The thing is I am applying as regular major because there is no RETP for computer science. I was wondering whats a good GPA for acceptance in computer science. I am just completing the core classes i.e math and science and transferring. The actual classes that would be counted are the ones I am taking this semester. I have a 2.8 GPA right now but thats because I have only 5 transfer classes out which two were writing and I suck at writing. Probably by next semester I will have atleast 3.3 GPA. Do you guys think that should be enough keeping in mind I will only take the classes mentioned on Gatech’s chart for each major. (i.e only about 39 credit hours).

I would highly appreciate your reply.

This might not be of much help, but since no one has replied yet, I guess I will tell you my dreams of Georgia Tech too. It’s competitive according to their website. Like 38% admittance for transfer, I also noticed that Georgia Tech has two gpas for transfer students. A regular humanities, English and such. And a math and science gpa. So I would advise to focus on making sure your math and science gpa is good, and do well on the short answer questions when you apply. Best of luck!
