Georgia Tech Transfer Requirements

Hello,
I am a sophomore CS Major at a uni at FL and I actually wanted to ask if I should take Linear Algebra before I transfer to georgia tech. I have checked their transfer requirements and it DOES NOT say that if it is Recommended OR Required. However, I believe it is still a Core requirement (pls let me know if im wrong) for the major. Pls help me thnx!

Two linear algebra classes are required for some CS threads. You should check if GaTech will transfer the particular class at your Florida school here–

Yes. It is, I’ve checked. Another reason is why I’m asking cos it is much cheaper than tech. I thought that since it is transferable, I’ll take it here only.

But the bad part is that transfer to tech isn’t easy and the linear alg class is NOT a requirement for the CS major at my current school. So it is a risk since I’ll be paying for a class I don’t need if I don’t get in…

@Smong006 You might as well learn linear algebra. If you want to go to graduate school later, you will need it. Many Computer science bachelors degrees are too light weight to get a good job. Gainesville should be fine, if you are not at Gainesville, look into transferring there as well as GaTech. For certain take linear algebra no matter what school you attend.

I don’ understand… I believe one cannot choose the campus, there is no option or anything like that… If you are accepted, then that is it?
