Georgia Tech/UGA chances?

Hello. I am a senior in Georgia who wants to get into GA Tech (and UGA, in case GT fails). Moved to the US on my sophomore year, did not speak english, so I did not take that many challenging classes in 10th and, obviously, 9th because my classes in Russia did not count as Honors or AP. My stats are as following:

SAT I:
My best is 1990 (Math 770, CR and W are in mid 600)
Retaking it in October (aiming for 2100+)

SAT II:
Math 2 - 790, US History - 740

ACT:
28 Comp. If superscored (took 2 times), about 31-32
Retaking in September (aiming for 32+)

AP Exams:
Only one so far (AP US History), got a 5.

Unweighted GPA is around 3.7-3.8 (will provide more accurate details on GPA later)

Got A's in all science/math classes in the US (got B in math and physical science in Russia in 9th grade).

Junior Year:

1st semester:
American Lit (A)
Honors Pre-Calc (A)
BVP (A)
Web-Design (A)
Honors Human Anatomy (A)
AP US History (B)

2nd:
Honors American Lit (B, switched to Honors from regular)
BVP (A)
Honors Pre-Calc (A)
Web-Design(A)
Honors Anatomy (A)
AP US History (B, despite getting a 5 on the AP exam)

Senior year schedule (pretty sure gonna get A's in all of them):
AP Calc BC
AP Physics B
AP Psychology
AP Micro Econ/AP Gov
Men's Chorus
AP Lit

EC's:
200+ hours community volunteering
Tutoring a student who failed 1st semester, but after my tutoring passed with a high B
CS Certificate from Udacity
Opened my own repository on GitHub with programs I write and publish (such as a prototype of a search engine, cellular automation, and etc.)
Mozilla Verbatim (Mozilla Localization Team) Top Contributor from the Russian team
Reddit Localization Team Leader/Reviewer (the top position one can achieve, currently I am the only one from Russian branch of it who has this position)
Aeronautics Team member
Math Team Leader (not by appointment, but by the number of points I scored on the various tournaments for the team)
Chess Club Top Player

Also, I am hosting and writing problems for my own Math Tournament at my school (but it is in February, so, I think, it is late) as a senior project.

I would like someone to chance me for Georgia Tech and UGA as of right now, and if I get 2100 on SAT or 32+ on ACT

Also, should I apply Early Action (does not bind me, I just get decision earlier, in December) or wait for the first semester grades (but the decision is gonna be in April then)

Forgot to mention, I play piano since 5, saxophone since 13 and have a diploma that I graduated music school, but it is probably irrelevant, since it was before high school.

bumpity bump

bump

Finally, I got my transcript and calculated my GPA for those colleges. If I apply Early Action, my GPA is 3.79 UW and 3.83 W. If I apply after my first semester (and I’ll get all A’s, which I am pretty sure I will), it would be around 3.91 UW and 4.08 W. Should I wait or apply early?

I’m not too familiar with the schools but I’m guessing you’d be in. You’re in-state, have good grades, pretty good scores (maybe you should try to get a 30 or 2000), and you’re from Russia! You write English very well btw. Can you chance me? Please. http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1380973-please-chance-average-student-high-aspirations.html

Thanks for your reply, but I’d want to hear answers from those who actually got into/familiar with admissions at GIT/UGA. I will look over your thread, but I, myself, have no idea about chances about colleges you are applying to.

You’re good. You have a high SAT, good EC’s, and great grades. The only thing is that you’ve only taken 1 AP class before senior year, but if your school offers less, it won’t be a big deal. Even if your school offered tons, you’re well qualified.
I’m applying to GA State too.

Thanks for your opinion. My school offers more, but not a whole lot. Most of the guys I know took about 2-4 AP’s before senior, and about 3 more senior year. I took only 1, but I take 6 this year, so it evens out. That’s why I think I should apply Regular instead of Early Action, because I will be able to show them my 1st semester grades (which are supposed to be all A’s)

I think UGA is a safety while GT is a match.

bumping

bumping

I think you are good at GT and DEFINITELY good at UGA. You are higher than all of UGA’s averages and I think you meet almost all of GTs averages, maybe not the SAT score. I have heard that Tech combines the SAT and ACT scores for a supersuper score, not sure if that is true. Definitely consider applying to harder schools if you are interested, maybe Vandy or UNC.

Chance me back if you’d like, thank you!

I was thinking of GT as well, with a 1820 SAT and 3.67 UW and 4.1 W. The only thing about GT is that it is a big sausage fest there, like 66% male and 33% female. But for me, I am in California and it would be really expensive too. But I think you’d be fine getting into GT.
