Georgia Tech/UM/UIUC/Purdue/Utexas Austin for Engineering

I have been accepted to all the above except Georgia Tech where i have been Deffered.
I really have no idea which one to attend!!!!!
I am an International student from Cyprus-Europe and i really need some advice on which university to attend. My major will be Electrical Engineering.
I need advice in certain aspects ,like University life, research opportunities, internships, job placements, reputation.

P.S i am aware of the different rankings online by (THE,QS and US news) besides that i have no idea.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thank in advance.

You have a bunch of great choices there including multiple top 10 EE schools, so good job with that. You could consider finances if that is something you believe is important because Michigan is about $11,000 more expensive per year than UIUC and Purdue, which are also both top 10 EE schools. With that being said, I still think Michigan is the best choice (in my opinion!) on that list. (Although if you got into GTech then that would be the best choice). Even if you decide to change engineering majors at Michigan, almost all of them are top 10 programs. But try to research online into the different academic and social cultures at these schools and maybe talk to admissions councilors, etc. to gain information into where you would fit in best.

I would still attend Michigan over Georgia Tech even if you were accepted there. Michigan is the WHOLE experience of attending college. All of your choices, including GT, are very strong for engineering. For a student, Ann Arbor blows away Atlanta.

I’d go to Texas, Michigan or Georgia Tech. They’re all really good for engineering.

Michigan is in Ann Arbor, which is more of a small college town. UMich dominates everything that happens there.

UT is in Austin, which is an awesome city. Its more of a complete city than Ann Arbor, but it’s not as large as Atlanta. There’s a lot to do, and it’s pretty much just perfect.

GT is in Atlanta, which is a large city. It can also be pretty dangerous.

Well, i guess i am going have to do plenty of research in order to find the ONE :)

Thank you guys, for your quick replies, greatly appreciated

Rjkofnovi - you posted on all three of the OP’s threads telling him to go to Michigan? Are you insecure or something?

To the OP, I’d chose UT simply because I view it as the best all around school. Michigan is too cold for me.

UT has a very strong engineering program with the 4th most professors in the National Academy of Engineering.

114-MIT
92-Stanford
91-Berkeley
48-UT Austin
31-CalTech

Michigan is a good school… but their location is craaap. Ann Arbor?

No landmark whatsoever… also terrible weather.
