I doubt the label “rigorous private school” if your school doesn’t offer honors/AP World History. Your stats are good but not amazing. Decent EC’s… But I’d say you’re a reach for Ga Tech, with UT being a high match considering you’re in state. A&M should be a match. Purdue might be a low reach. You’ve got good shots everywhere except for Ga. Tech.

If you are not within the top 8% in your class, your chance at UT Austin would be low. Purdue may be a very high match. The admission there is not that difficult, but they weed out a lot of freshmen.

@tigerrocks13 AP courses are offered for those subjects but world history/government/English 9&10 are required for everyone in the 9th/10th grade. Once you are a junior/senior those APs become available to take.

That makes no sense… You’re required to take World History in 9th/10th grade, but they offer AP only to juniors and seniors???

I think TX A&M and Purdue are matches. You may be an academic admit for A&M depending on how your class rank is estimated (I am assuming your school does not rank). You need to apply to A&M right away as A&M has rolling admissions.

UT Cockrell is a reach and so is Georgia Tech. You might get waitlisted to UT or CAP but getting engineering is tough.

Your GPA is way too low for Georgia Tech. Your test scores are just above the cutoff. The rest of your resume is ho-hum for GT applicants. I don’t like your chances. I wouldn’t even bother applying.

I am speaking as a GT alumnus.

I think you can definitely count on A&M and Purdue. If you applied by late October, you should have already received decisions from A&M and Purdue. Georgia Tech will roll out around January, 9th. However, this year for Georgia Tech is their most competitive year. It used to be an easy school to get in with around a 50% acceptance rate. However, with the increasing number of well-rounded applicants, it gained more selectivity ever since. You are not out of range for any of these schools, however but UT and Georgia Tech should be considered as high reaches.
