Georgia Tech VS Ohio State VS Purdue VS NYU

I have to choose between these 4 universities for Computer Science. I was wondering how their computer science programs compare, in which of these places life is better etc. Btw financially from cheaper to most expensive (I got financial aid and merit scholarships in all of them) they rank: Ohio State, Purdue, Georgia Tech, NYU!

You’ll need to supply more info. for more support – particularly how much you can afford, and what are the respective costs. I’d think Georgia Tech for Computer Science may provide the best career prospects. Purdue next perhaps, and Ohio State should be solid as well. If NYU is the most expensive for Computer Science, I don’t think it would be worth it unless costs are close to the same.

@anhydrite Yeah that’s what I thought too…well Ohio State comes down to around 3000$ per year, Purdue 14000$, Georgia tech 38000$ and NYU 45000$! I probably can afford 20000 at the most so I’m waiting for some outside scholarships. Do you know anything about living in these places? And between Purdue and Ohio State will there be a big difference?

Well, you see, the tuition does make a difference … I think I’d prefer Columbus to West Lafayette, as it offers more variety. Purdue may have somewhat better C.S., and if you can afford it, maybe that would take precedence. I’d like to see some other posters answer your question, as C.S. is not my field. Perhaps see if you can get that Georgia Tech price down. I’d cross NYU off the list, unless they dump a bucket of money in your lap. Congratulations~

@anhydrite Yeap it does! Columbus is way bigger right? That will probably be the dilemma; life or better cs program! I’m trying to get better finaid at Tech but I don’t think that is possible…Thanks a lot!

The Columbus area is home to about 2 million people.

I think C.S. is pretty solid at Ohio State. With that amount of savings, maybe you can see if there are some extra honors, research or internship opportunities at tOSU that can give you a leg up.

@anhydrite I was accepted in the Honors program at OSU and I am also interested in the coop program which both Purdue and OSU offer. Thanks again!

Ohio State is the clear option for you.

@sltxdad Thanks!
