Georgia Tech vs U of T (Computer Engineering)

I would really really appreciate it if one of you American or Canadian folks could help me out with this.

Judging factors:

  • Job prospects. I know GT is the better engineering school, but I’m an international student and it’s getting very hard to get an H1B these days.
  • Overall academic reputation
  • Prospects of doing PG (I’m considering MBA) at a high ranking school (like Wharton or University of Chicago)
  • Campus life. I hear GT has really boring kids who do zero ECs and I’m guessing Toronto is the better city too.
  • School spirit. I know this is weird, but I want to study at a school where kids are proud to be at.

Any help could make a difference.

“Prospects of doing PG” … what is “PG” ?

“job prospects” … “academic reputation” … “I want to study at a school where kids are proud to be at.” … those are the reasons students go to Tech. Tech is often second choice for kids that didn’t get into MIT.

as compared to U Toronto? I know nothing about Canadian schools.

For engineering THE and QS world rankings:
GeorgiaTech 10 14
UToronto 31 22

For a US engineering job, GT is the #1 school in the US.

For engineering academics, MIT Stanford Caltech would be higher ranked than GT.

“I hear GT has really boring kids who do zero ECs” … GT is an engineering school, not many kids with dyed hair and facial piercings… but you need a bunch of ECs to get in.
