So I got accepted to both for chemical engineering. Of course I'm leaning towards GT, but my dad is leaning towards Davis since we live about 2 hrs away from Davis and also because it's cheaper. He wants me to go to Davis if at the end of college, I'd end up in the same place. Can you guys help me out and tell me what I can tell my dad to convince him that Tech is the better place, I will end up in a better place after college by going to Tech? Thanks :)

it depends on your family’s situation. if u worry about tuition. just go to davis. it’s easier and cheaper.

Nah tuition isnt a problem for us.

we are looking at the same question, but comparing G Tech with Univ of Maryland (in state and good scholarship). From what we learned (comparing two schools), G Tech has a very good and big list of companies/employers who come to GT campus to hire graduates. Generally, people say that they (still in this economy) did not have any problems finding jobs. It sounds like value of the GT degree is quite good. Also, I understand that GT might be tough for those who are not used to study a lot, and one comment was that GT is a geek paradise. Probably depends on whether you would enjoy this type of enviornment.
We are also trying to figure out if GT is going to be worth it, vs. going to in-state school.

Thanks for your input!
