Hey guys, I was recently admitted to both of these schools. I should have a full ride for UF (florida incentive program) but attending Georgia Tech would have me incur a full cost of attendance. I’m leaning heavily towards UF due to the scholarship, but would you say that I would get a better education from Georgia Tech and that future salary would offset the cost differential?
I really appreciate your help guys
I think that considering UF Full Ride vs. Georgia Tech Full costs, even GTech supporters would go with UF full ride.
Your future salary depends on both your major and what type of job you land. Probably the full ride is the better way to go and do a masters in your field at GT, but may depend on lots of factors, such as does each school offer the major you may end up in, if engineering does not work out for you? GT offers international policy for instance. U of Florida has a college of agriculture and life sciences , and art. GT has a media degree that includes some art. If you are inclined to major in business, if engineering turns out not to be a good fit for you, compare the two business colleges.
Thanks guys for your help. I’m definitely leaning towards engineering but haven’t ruled out finance or accounting, especially since UF has this MSF program…
in regards to comparing the two business colleges, all I’ve heard is that UF’s is better. Is that the case indeed?
The two business schools are comparable. UF’s is a bit stronger in accounting, finance and marketing, while GT excels in Management information Systems, production/operations management and supply chain management/logistics.
However, I don’t think you’ll find many that would recommend you choose GT for a Business degree, simply based on the cost between UF and GT.
University of Florida no doubt. GT has a great ROI, but for something like 30K a year OOS, versus UF (Which is also a premier Public school) for free? That shouldn’t be a question.
