Georgia Tech vs USC

I've been fortunate enough to be accepted to both GT and USC for college, however I can not decide which one would be a better fit for me. I'm planning on studying EE or CE. Cost is not a major concern. I don't care about athletics, either.

Georgia Tech has got a better engineering program I suppose. GT is also much closer to home, many of my friends are going, and it is my impression that GT engineers have better career options coming out with a stronger degree. However, I have heard low GPA's and difficult workloads are the norm. GT is, from what I took away from it, mainly an engineering school with only a few opportunities for study outside the engineering field. That being said, it's GT engineering, one of the best engineering schools in the nation.

USC has a better location in California, better social life, and overall ranking as a school, although their engineering program is not on the same level as GT's. I'm also a bit concerned for career options after USC - will I be facing competition from Stanford, Berkeley, CalTech, UCLA, UCSD engineers in California? I'm also a big fan of their international business/entrepreneurial programs. I've also heard their alumni network is strong. But I've also heard housing is a bit weak.

So please assist me in making this very important decision. Georgia Tech vs USC engineering

Georgia Tech is tough, which is why the school has such a reputation among employers for producing highly proficient, capable, and reliable engineers who have been forced to learn to manage their time and stress effectively.

I haven’t compared the two, but if business and entrepreneurship interest you, you might find it an interesting exercise to view a list of notable alumni of both schools and compare them.

It’s strange to me that people get the idea that they’ll come to GT and have no social life. It is a college with ~21,000 students. Trust me, you’ll find whatever social life you’re looking for here.
