I am currently a junior and Georgia Tech is my dream school so I'm hoping that someone will be able to tell me chances of being accepted there.
I have a 4.6 weighted GPA and a 3.79 unweighted GPA.
I have taken 4 AP classes and I have gotten As in 3 of them (Environmental Science, US History, Psychology) and a B in the other one(English--Language and Composition)
I scored a 2100 on my SAT (math=720, reading=680, writing=700)
I live out of state (NC)
I've been playing piano for around 7 hours each week throughout my high school career and I also compose music for piano.
I am a member of key club international (and have been a member since the first semester of freshmen year)
That's all! Thanks for your time!

Which Major are you looking at. I got in GT early action and your SAT looks so much better than the one i sent (1910) but i think i had more rigor to counterbalance. I would be surprised if you got denied. Chance back?

You’re definitely in. This should go in the chance thread fyi.

Are all of your AP classes for junior year? If not, your scores from the actual College Board AP exams would be more informative than mere school grades.

Unfortunately, I see no particular passion here, as with most chance posts; something of that sort could prove enormously helpful in admissions. Nevertheless, your academics are goodespecially your SAT scoresand extracurricular activities are fair. I say “almost certain.”

I would say “certain,” but Georgia Tech’s obligation is to serve students of Georgia, so your chances of admission are just slightly diminished by your North Carolinian status.

May I ask what major you have in mind?

Good luck. (:

I’d like to major in industrial engineering

Looks like you’re in!

great accomplishment to date! Congrats. I think you’d make a great GT candidate. If and when you get in, make sure this guy isn’t in any of your study groups:

He’s a good one to avoid!

I don’t know too much about GT (my dad is a UGA alum), but I don’t see anything bad about your stats and EC’s. Take AP Calc your senior year, and take the SAT II math II. Good Luck!
