Georgia Tech?

Well, I applied to Tech already among other schools, but I'm so anxious and edgy that I decided to see what other people think, because I still haven't heard anything from them and half the people in my school who've applied have.

So here are my stats:
GPA: 3.72 UW
Rank: 25/270-something.
SATI: 1280 (680M/600V) (Yeah I know it's not great...haha)
ACT: 31Math, 32English
ECs: Symphonic Band (9-11), (made All State Band, Winterfest Band, Honor Band twice); Military History Club (12), Math Team (11-12), Beta Club (10-12), Science Olympiad (10-12) (3rd place Designer Genes, team placed second @ regionals in grade 11); Marching Band (9)
Sr. Year: AP English, AP Calculus AB, AP Government & Politics, AP Chemistry
Last year I took APUSH and got a 4.

I've also participated in community bands and orchestras for three years, and that counts as volunteer credit. And my essay was pretty good, as far as personal essays go.

The only thing that really bothers me is that I got an 83 in honors biology. I've taken honors everything though, except math in grades 9/10, though I got A's in those. I've had B's in honors phys. science, hon. bio and hon. english in grades 9/10, but since then, my grades have gone up a good deal.

And I'm a hispanic female living in the state of GA, which I don't think helps, though someone told me it did.

So what do you think? Should I get my hopes up?

I would say you have good chance of admission.

Thanks. (: A girl from my school got in with lower stats than me...like an 11-something SAT and no honors courses. So I'm not too worried anymore...but if anyone has anymore input, I'd be glad to hear it.

I can almost guarantee you will get in as you have pretty good stats and more importantly, you are a woman (GaTech has only 28% women).

Yeah, I think you have a very good shot. Did you send your ACT? It's much better than your SAT, though both are certainly in range. Good luck.

Yeah, I sent them both...I'll have to remember to thank my mother for making me take the ACTs if I get in.

you probably will get in. Georgia residents have almost nothing to fear.
