I got a 1440/2400 on the SAT and a composite score of 22 on the ACT. I have a 4.0 with 3 AP classes, and 3 Honor classes total in high school? will i have a chance of getting in this college. or what about the University of Georgia

Ga Tech is a big reach. UGA is a reach. ur SAT scores are just too low.
Im sure if u buy a book and study it u can get it up to at least a 1600. in this case,
GA Tech: low reach
UGA: match

or wait sorry, are u a georgia resident. if u are. right now UGA is a match/reach and GA tech is just a reach

i am a georgia resident. also what does match/reach mean?:S

Probably not... From the scatter plots I've seen GT seems to focus on standardized test scores more than anything. What was your Math score on the SAT/ACT? If it was at least mid-600's then you have a shot I'd say (especially if you're instate), but that would mean your other scores were rather low. If you really want to get into GT then I'd just recommend studying the SAT and trying to get a higher score. Unfortunately for you GT doesn't focus too much on GPA and they don't even look at class rank, so the 4.0 won't help you out as much as it would at some other schools.

i got a 25 on math ACT - 530 on SAT

ACT SAT RANGE SAT
22 1020-1050 1530

will they take the conversion

No chance at Tech. UGA is still a reach. You would need another 250+ points to have a chance at UGA.

I think you have a chance then. Its a (very) long shot, but not impossible.

"I think you have a chance then. Its a (very) long shot, but not impossible."

chance at georgia tech? will i definelty get accepted into UGA with my GPA and SAT/ACT?

btw is it possible to improve my ACT score from 22 to 26 in two weeks? or 24 hour studying

both are giant reaches.

"will i definelty get accepted into UGA with my GPA and SAT/ACT?"
No. Getting high grades and then very low test scores tells colleges that your school is probably grade inflated and therefore easier to do well.

As a Georgia resident who applied to both UGA and Georgia Tech last fall, I agree that your SAT scores are hurting your chances.

Both schools heavily factor in SAT scores in admissions, especially during the early rounds. (UGA is early action, and Georgia Tech is rolling admissions.)

Collegekid012's assessment is correct. A 1440 coupled with a 4.0 (unweighted?) is a red flag for grade inflation. I know from experience that UGA considers SAT scores more than courses taken because my transcript had several mistakes on it, and the admissions office never contacted me for clarification. (I would think that taking two classes twice would be suspicious, but that's not what they thought.)

If you can get your SAT score up to at least 1800 and preferably above 2000, your chances will increase dramatically.

Early action at UGA is much, much easier than regular decision. You don't have to write any essays, and you get a decision in December. Just up your SAT score and your chances will improve.

i am taking the SAT on june 2nd. i just need to improve on the critical reading section only. i am above average in the writing and math.

the ACT it is the same thing. i am good in all sections, but if i get a 19 on reading that is bad. so i need advise on how to concentrate on reading the passages because they are so boring.

if i increase my reading on my SAT to 500 then will i have a chance?

also if i take the SAT in october of this year how will the college see it if i apply early decision?

A 1440 coupled with a 4.0 (unweighted?) is a red flag for grade inflation.

i know but for some odd reason i don't find school work hard. how can it be a grade inflation if i am in 3 AP classes and 5 gifted/honors classes? i mean i was a junior marshall and i know some kids who have a higher SAT score that me, who are not even in the top 10 %. I am ranked 25/310 students in my class? don't i get anything for that?

Your honors classes could be equal to the standard classes at most schools. If you can get a 4.0, you're obviously somewhat smart, but a 1440 just shows that it might not be so legit.

yes, but the SAT is different from school work. i can do homework study for tests, etc. but the SAT is a test of reasoning? i mean it is not the same as studying for a school exam? don't they take this into consideration

what are a few good schools for computer engineering in Georgia? that i will be able to get into, with them score and information?

I got accepted into UGA and GT..I have a post with my stats, just check that post out. The people there said I was a reach at GT and a slight reach at UGA and I got into both, nothing is impossible bud..keep your hopes up.

My sat scores actually were different from the post I got 640 Math, 650 CR and 590 Writing so it was like 1290/1880..

If you could get your sat score to that you'd be straight..I mean I got mine up from a 1650-1880. Remember man, believe in your self and study and anything is possible.
