Georgia Tech

anyone else applying to gatech??what are all the requirements and documents? do we fill in the last part of the app?

Hey!

Yeah, I’ve applied to Georgia Tech for the fall 2010 semester (obviously! :P)

Documents required: Foreign credential evaluation (if you’ve studied in a high school outside US).
I found Josef Silny & Associates a very good company for this service. Check out [Josef Silny & Associates | Home](http://www.jsilny.com) for further details.

The credential evaluation is enough. However, most of the internationals also submit their HS transcripts/true copies (grades 9-12).

And then there’s obviously the online application.

So 3 requirements: foreign credential evalution, HS transcripts/true copies, online application.

PS: I’m not discouraging you, but if you’ve not got your credential evaluation done yet, then it’ll be very tough for you to meet the deadline (Jan 15) if you’re applying for the fall 2010 semester.

Actually, I mailed about the “Self Reported Academic Transcript” thing to their undergrad admissions office. They told me that it is NOT required for international students. However, if you’ve already filled in your marks/grades in the last section, it is completely fine.

hey thanks smit … ive got my foreign credential evaluation done… but i got it from ECE and they only evaluated the 10th Board marksheet… so thats kinda bad and doesnt reflect all my academic record… i spoke to them and they said they see NOTHING but that evaluation :(

Wow! You should’ve sent your original marksheets of 11th-12th grades! (if you’re in 12th right now, you can send your preliminary examination certificate) I spent a gap year, so I had no such problem. :)

Anyway, you can send a request to Georgia Tech admissions office and get the re-evaluation ASAP! :)

i sent all my high school transcripts(9th-12th) and i even contacted ECE and gatech about it… ECE says they only take into consideration external exams and gatech said there’s nothing they can do about it… though now im thinking of filling in the self reporteed coursework form with all my high school marks converted into grades on an approximate system offered by the school… i cant believe it… ive been scoring the highest in school all these years and just 1 bad exam with biased checking and all has made such a big difference

It seems that ECE only evaluates what is supported by the official board exam documents. So long as you have the official final documents for whatever years you completed, at least 10 thru 12, you should be ok.
