My S is considering undergrad engineering at Georgia Tech and Vanderbilt. We are having difficulty in making a choice as we do not know much about the engineering program at Vanderbilt. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Vanderbilt is a great school overall but if he really wants to study engineering GT is by far a better choice. Not to mention the cost of Tech is much less.

My freshman DD had that decision last year. Financially, both schools were equivalent for her (very generous). It was difficult turning down such a great school (for me anyway), but DD was going into engineering. If it were some other major, Vandy would have been the stronger choice. But I could not argue with her that GT was the best choice for engineering. It was a no-brainer as far as she was concerned. She’s also having the time of her life.

Very useful replies. Thanks.
