German and...?

What are the best double majors to compliment German in terms of career opportunities?

I’ve always heard BUSINESS and a foreign language

Depends on what you want to do in lines of German. Like German and education ( teacher), German and etc…

I’m not very interested in business or anything science/medicine related. I was thinking more education, academia, research, law, international…

History, International Relations, Political Science, Sociology, Anthropology. Just throwing some out there. At my school you have to do extra language courses for IR anyways.

If you did History, IR or Poli Sci you could take courses on WW2 and the Holocaust if it’s offered. I’d do that.

I wanted to take German so bad but it is not offered. I really want to go to Germany and study the Holocaust even further.

Good luck.

Just thought I’d throw an idea your way …
If you are interested in academia, you could take another language. For example, beginning Russian has opened my mind to new grammatical concepts that aren’t as apparent in my other languages: German, English, and Spanish. I am planning to work in academia as well (comparative literature), so it is important that I have at least a reading knowledge of a few languages.
Depending on the subject you would like to teach and research for a living, knowledge of another language could really improve your understanding of grammar in general.

Also, if you have no desire to pursue another language, I have heard that history compliments a language major well.
