Hey, can someone help me, is thier an exchange program between germany and america that american students can go and study, learn the lang. and it be paid for by the government since they love to spread german culture? danke

Have you checked out AFS (American Field Service) or YFU (Youth For Understanding)? They're the largest programs that come to my mind right now. Usually an exchange year is not too expensive since you don't pay for accommodation, and some students can get partial scholarships if they're espeacially involved. Just go to their websites and do some research

check at your home university, there is usually something called :"the department of foreign affairs" or something of that sort. I know we have an exachange program with many some german unis at my home university.

Check out the Congress-Bundestag program at this site:

If you...
...are interested in cultural exchange (Germany-USA)
...are doing excellent in college
...want to spend a year at a German university for free
I recommend that you check out the Fulbright program.
