I have some background in German, however not enough to study in that language. At the same time, I would like to test what German I have learned thus far. What are some Universities in German speaking areas that teach classes in English?

Thanks

There's Jacobs University near Bremen....it's a private university that teaches only in English.
Some Universities in Germany offer some Majors in English I've heard, but I am not sure which universities do

I'm stationed in Mainz, Germany. My girlfriend goes to the University of Mainz and she says that there are always American transfers there. Many of her classes are in English.

Germany's a great country. I've been here three years. Study here if you can!
Also if you do come here use ryanair.com for cheap flights when you want to explore Europe.

D did a summer study abroad program through Vanderbilt that partnered with Freie Univesitaet Berlin. Profs were from American schools and credits were easily transferrable back to home institution. There were other American schools involved in this program as well. She took a German class and an art history class. Everything but the language classes taught in English, I believe.

Deadline for this year's passed, but just for future reference:

European College of Liberal Arts in Berlin (ECLA) also teaches classes in English, but has no departments. Students study philosophy, politics, history and literature. They're quite unique and they're the only liberal arts school in Germany. Until this year, they are doing summer program, 1-year/2-year program but they're extending to a 4-year degree program next year.
The school's really small, around 40 kids per year, and they come from 20 different countries. The teachers come from quite prestigious institutions (mostly Harvard, UChicago etc.) and their graduates seem to proceed to really good schools later on.
