<p>My stats are sort of embarrassing but here goes nothing. </p>

<p>Female applying for physics.</p>

<p>GPA: 3.62 unweighted, approx 4.2 weighted</p>

<p>SAT: is so embarrassing 1770 in total oh my god I’m so bad at tests okay</p>

<p>Approx rank: 8th out of 83. </p>

<p>4/6 possible AP’s finished by graduation: English Lit, English Lang, Physics B, Statistics and will be taking Calculus exam though I’m in honors (because we do AP work anyway, we have AP books). The rest of all my classes ever have been honors. </p>

<p>I go to an arts school so they’ll either take that as “*** you’re insane” or “wow what a well rounded individual.”</p>

<p>EC’s/Activities/All that Crap: babysitting forever, National Honor Society, Theatre Program, 8 years of Polish Language outside of school, Piano, School Newspaper. Last year I started a self published zine. Paid work as a receptionist. Volunteer at local humane society. </p>

<p>Essay: fantastic, was read over by my creative writing teachers (that’s my department at school, so I lucked out there) and English teacher. Very little edits had to be made, pertains to career/long term goals. </p>

<p>Recs: Amazing. Shocking even as to how good they were. </p>

<p>Northeastern is a bit of a reach for me. I know this. It’s still my dream school so obviously I put my all into it. I’m hoping my high gpa and well written essay will compensate for my awful SAT score (super scored, btw. cries)…</p>

<p>I’m also hoping as a girl with permanent residency rather than citizenship going into science that will help me too.</p>

GPA: 4.0 (UW) and 4.26 (W; my school doesn’t really do weighted GPA’s and keeps it out of a 4.0 scale)</p>

<p>Marty, I think it’s a bit of a reach however, I know what it’s like to feel like you can’t get in to your dream school, so just hold on to hope. You never know what could happen when an admissions counselor reads the rest of your app.</p>

<p>Hey everybody I’m a high school senior and my dream school is Northeastern. Im currently in the final year of the IB program (generally considered more rigorous), and I was just wondering what my chances would probably be. </p>

<p>I don’t have the best grades and SAT but im hoping my strong essay and above average EC’s will make up for it. I live in Switzerland currently but have previously lived in New Jersey, Singapore, and Bangkok. I hope to major in International Relations/Affairs.</p>

-Band junior/senior year. I wanted to get back into music and was able to pick up another instrument very quickly after a 9 year gap. I play 1st part on most pieces now.

<p>Pretty sure I have a low chance, but here:
•ACT: Got a 26 and 27, superscore should be a 28 I believe.
•GPA: My school only does unweighted, 3.75. I think northeastern will weigh it, right?
•APs: AP US History (5) and AP English (currently). I also took the AP Lang test last year without the class and got a 3.
•Language: 2 years of spanish, unable to fit it into my schedule again.
•Senior year: journalism, personal finance, painting, photo, ap engish, duel enrollment college class second semester: gov/econ, enviro science, online class tbd, ap english, journalism, and a duel enrollement college class. My school makes it hard to fit in ap classes. there are prerequists normally and it’s hard to fit them all into junior and senior year. Also, we only have a few honors classes and only recently started offering them.
•ECs: Journalism, NHS, service organization partnered with the optimist club, and student ambassador, and work part time.
•I think that my essay was strong and really conveyed my passion for journalism
•I think I chose good reccomenders, however, I never saw the letters. One was my apush teacher, the other my precalc teacher. Both I had very good relationships with and excelled in their class.
•Applied journalism. </p>

<p>anything else: i’ve gotten academic awards, editor in chief of my newspaper, and I think i did good with ec’s and ap classes based on what my school offers and how easy I can get into them. I hope northeastern takes that into consideration.</p>
