I got into WashU, and I'm flying from California to St. Louis on Monday (and back, all on the same day ~_~). Since both my parents can't make it, i'm doing this visit solo; does anyone know how reliable the taxi service is? or do they have a shuttle?

I recommend taking a taxi on your first visit ($25). Taxi drivers know about Washington University. I have taken the Metro, and it is inexpensive, but you will have to transfer to another train once you get off at the Forest Park station.

I went alone last fall and the train was not bad at all. It takes you almost directly to campus and is much cheaper than a taxi. But depending on the time of day, a taxi might be safer.

yeah i'm actually at WashU right now (on my laptop in my hotel room :)), been here for the last 2 days....and I met 2 kids who came without parents and seemed to be fine. one was just taking a shuttle over to the airport. Call undergrad admissions with questions and they'll set it all up for you or help you work it out I bet.

great- thanks a lot guys! so if i want a taxi back to the airport, i can just go to the undergrad admissions office and they'll help me set one up you think?
