Hi
I live in CT
I'm going to apply early to UCONN in a month or two and wondering what my chances of getting are. Here are my stats
GPA: 2.61
Rank: 98/310
SAT: 1790 (I will re-take in sept)
ACT: 24 (I will re-take in oct)
over 300 hours of volunteering (school, hospital, soup kitchen, clubs in school, etc.)
I've taken 4 AP's...but scored poorly in 3 and got a 3 on one of the tests....

I did well in my AP courses (B's), but screwed up in all my other classes (electives, extra classes, online classes, etc.)
My goal for the SAT's is to get over 2000 and at least a 28 on ACT. If I meet my goal, what are my chances to get into UCONN? And if I don't? I know my GPA is extremely bad...but eh...I screwed up pretty bad.

Ur gpa puts u in bad shape, but your rank isnt awful. Also, ur sat is pretty average for Uconn, but ur poor showing on your AP tests is a cause for concern.
i live in connecticut too, what school do u go to? if its an inner city one like hillhouse, weaver, etc. then you may have better odds. also, what is your income level and race?

hmm... sorry to tell you, but things dont look good. you can apply, but i think you'd have a much better shot at southern or somthing along those lines. also, keep in mind, even you get in to Uconn, would you be able to keep up with the workload? if Uconn is really your dream school, you could always attempt to transfer after a year or two

I'm sorry, but it's unlikely that you would be admitted to Storrs as a freshman with those stats. I do think that you could start at one of UConn's branch campuses and transfer to Storrs after two years.
