Given that somebody wants to go to an Ivy League, is getting a 3 or less on an AP test better or worse than not taking the AP test?

Hahaha…do you honestly think you’ll get a 3 or less on an AP test? You have straight 5s!

I wouldn’t report a score of 3 or less to an ivy. I don’t see why you would waste your money taking the test in the first place if you know you have a large chance of getting a poor score.

I’d take it. Colleges prefer to see you try rather than ditch it. If you ditch they’ll think think that you don’t have perseverance.

Did you already get less than 3? If it comes in the spring of senior year, it’s not important.

AP scores don’t really have an impact on admissions. I’d say go for it as long as you have a reasonable grasp on the material.

Hey take it. You might not make it into an Ivy and the 3’s could really help you with the gen ed classes at your local college. None of the good colleges take many AP’s and they definitely take nothing below a 4.
