Getting 800 in math in next exam ?

Hi guys,

I have been improving alot in math I am trying to get 800 in next math test now I only get
Max 4 wrong in math exam,but it depends on the subject on math if I am perfect in all subjects then I get 800,but other times there 3-4 questions that get in my way.

I made so far 30 exams in math,also I have covered khanacademy reviewing of blue book,and done every excerise on a Barron book,Macgrawhills,and some other books.
I have scored an average sometimes 800 and other times 700,but minimum I got was 660.

But sometimes I have problems with 3d dimensional stuff,some types of rate problems,and some word problems that has really bad wording that makes you not understand it.

What do you advise me to do this week ? I really need 800 in the math section.

Should I search the internet about these problems and cover them or what???

For example I got this question wrong in a kaplan test.

A circular frame with a width of 2 inches surrounds a circular photo with a diameter of 8 inches. Assuming that the area of the frame does not overlap the area of the photo, what is the area of the frame?

1) 4PI
2) 12PI
3) 16PI
4) 20PI
5) 36PI

I really don't understand this question does it mean like its a rectangle box that has insribed circle in it or does it mean its a smaller circle inside a bigger circle.

Like this for example:
http://www.ancestrycircle.com/images/circleframe4.jpg ??

I thought about this,but why would a circle frame have a width if its bigger circle inside smaller one ?? How can it not overlap if its if its like the image in the picture,but if its a rectangle that has circle insribed in it,then this question would be easy it would just be.

(8/2)^2PI = 16PI - 4 = 12PI,but the answer is 16PI.

What your advice for me this 1 week to do in order to get 800 in the math section.

Thanks in advance.

math makes you a nerd
focus on writing and cr

^What is wrong being a nerd :P? Math makes you understand the world if it wasn’t for it,then there wouldn’t be computers or many devices that you currently use :D.

Hmm… that’s a difficult question. I don’t get how its 16 though. I added the width of the frame (2 inches, and 2 sides so 4 inches overall) to the 8in to get a 12in diameter. Then got the area of the circle with the frame (144pi) and subtracted it from the area of the picture alone (64pi) to get 80pi as the answer. Can anyone explain?

Btw why are you doing kaplan math? Did you already do all of collegeboard’s math sections?

Area of picture is 16pi (radius 4)

Area of picture with frame 36pi (radius 6)

difference is 20pi

2 inches is the thickness of the frame, it is a circle inside a circle. The outer circle has a diameter of 12 inches (8 inches for the picture and 2 inches on each side for the frame).

Hope this helps

@Sat100

Yeh I finished SAT collegeboard tests,blue book,Barron so I am almost ran out of tests.

@Yzamyatin,SAT100

I am sorry I wrote answer wrong it should be 20PI not 16.
I see now how you did it he wanted to know like the outer circle Area which for example in this picture is the Black part right ?

ancestrycircle.com;

@YZamyatin thanks, forgot I was using diameter instead of radius.

I want to get an 800 on this one too. I got a 760 last time. The #1 thing you can do is be well rested and in your prime for the exam. That should be your first priority, not prep.

The only thing you really can do is do a few more practice tests. Try to do them more quickly so you have ~10 minutes for the last 3 problems. Then when you are sure you got those right, go back to the beginning of the section and check answers if you have time.
