I havent taken my final yet but my grade in ap phyics is a 75 and there is no possible way for me to get a B. My total gpa unweighted is a 3.6. I have never gotten a C and it is devastating to see that this one class might actually ruin my chance of getting into certain colleges. The main reason I took this class was because I really wanted to challenge myself and I was interested in the topic. I really wanted to major in bio, immunology, or pharmacology and i thought that taking ap physics will help me with these majors since I would need to take it in college. I am so scared because now I wont be able to get into UCs because of my C.
Your doomed. Give up all hope. Or be rational and realize, yes it hurts but your chances aren’t completely destroyed…
One C will not destroy your chances at a UC. Yes, it will impact your GPA since the UC GPA is calculated on 10-11th grades but there are 9 UC’s and if all your other grades are good, there are several UC’s you should be competitive for next year when you apply.
At the end of Junior year, calculate your UC GPA and see where you stand: https://rogerhub.com/gpa-calculator-uc/
Remember GPA is only one of the your UC application. Test scores, essays and EC’s will all contribute to your acceptance or rejection by these schools.
In the meantime, focus on how to get your grade up by year’s end.
Good luck.
