I've gotten almost all A's in high school. I have a 3.9 GPA. However, I've suffered a great deal of senioritis. I just can't motivate myself anymore. If I am accepted at Yale and earn one C during second semester of senior year, is there a possibility that my admissions can be revoked (not just at Yale, but at other top schools too)? That C would be in AP Bio.

Dear Lord yes… You would definitely get rescinded. This is Yale, not NYU.

There’s a chance. If you have 1 C and all Bs, maybe.

If it’s just one C, and all A’s…probably not.

If it’s one C, and the rest are mostly B’s, then there’s a pretty good chance. But you still have 2 nine weeks to bring up the grades, so get to work!

When brownman says pretty good chance, does he mean >50% or that it’s just not impossible.

Every time this quesiton comes up, people jump in to say you’d get rescinded for a C. Where’s the proof? You will probably, at the least, get a letter admonishing you, and telling you to write a letter explaining why your grades have dropped, and promising to work hard in college. You might get rescinded if your grades drop enough, but I haven’t seen any convincing evidence of just what constitutes enough to get you rescinded.
